LITTLE LEAGUE NEWS CONFERENCE
TO ANNOUNCE NEW WORLDWIDE INITIATIVE

What: News Conference regarding a new Little League Baseball initiative, in response to the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. Also announced will be the newest enshrinee into the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum Hall of Excellence. 
When:  Monday, January 14, 10 a.m. (Eastern)
Where: Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum (next to the Little League Baseball International Headquarters Building - 539 U.S. Route 15, South Williamsport, PA).
Parking: Free parking will be available in the Museum parking lot.  
Materials: Materials will be provided to media.
Details: Little League is played in all 50 U.S. states and 103 other countries around the world, with more than 2.8 million children and 1 million adult volunteers participating. It is the world’s largest organized youth sports program. … This initiative will conceivably involve the active participation of millions of Little Leaguers and others worldwide. … Previous enshrinees into the Little League Museum Hall of Excellence have included U.S. President George W. Bush, actor Kevin Costner, astronaut Story Musgrave, singer Bruce Springsteen, columnist/author George Will, and several Baseball Hall of Fame inductees.
