Extra Issue of Little League Magazine to be Published this Month

For the first time, a bonus issue of Little League magazine will be published and mailed to the homes of about a million Little Leaguers this month, thanks to a partnership with Major League Baseball.

Since 1997, the magazine has been published once a year, in June. As always, however, the Little League magazine is again filled with stories and photos of Major Leaguers who played Little League when they were children, playing tips from the pros, stories about current Little Leaguers, details from the Little League Baseball and Softball World Series, games, puzzles and more.

“The Little League magazine is published for the most important constituency of Little League,” said Stephen D. Keener, president and chief executive officer of Little League Baseball and Softball. “Eight years ago, publishing this magazine was the first formal arrangement between Little League and Major League Baseball. We’re pleased with this collaboration with Major League Baseball in an effort to benefit the millions of children who play Little League Baseball and Softball.”

There is no subscription available to obtain the Little League magazine. About 1 million Little Leaguers whose leagues have submitted rosters electronically to Little League International will receive it by mail.

Through its secure, computerized roster system, and with the support of Major League Baseball, the Little League magazine is mailed directly to the homes of players at no charge. Tens of thousands of other copies are distributed at major and minor league ballparks each season.
