Andy Konyar Little League International Umpire Consultant

Andy Konyar of Lewisburg, Pa., has been a Little League volunteer
umpire for 30 years.After 20 years in the U.S. Navy, Andy came to work at Little League International in 1987 as the Assistant Director of the Eastern Region. In 1990, he was named umpire consultant following the retirement of longtime Little League Umpire Consultant Frank Rizzo.
Andy is responsible for overseeing the training of thousands of
volunteer umpires each year through clinics, seminars, and the Little
League Umpire Registry.

oversees the selection of umpires for the various World Series
tournaments in Little League Baseball and Softball, and answers
thousands of questions about Little League rules and regulations each
year.
Andy has umpired in two World Series, both in 1993: The Little League Baseball World Series, and the Big League Baseball World Series.
Andy grew up in Trevorton, Pa., where he played youth baseball and high school baseball. He and his wife, Bev, have a son (Chris, 31) a daughter (Jill, 37), and four grandchildren.
