As always, admission is free. Everest Field, where the Junior League Softball World Series has been played every year since 1999, seats approximately 3,000. No tickets are required for the Junior Softball World Series. All seating is general, on a first come, first served basis.
If you plan to watch the games from the terraced area at Everest Field, you may want to bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs.
Nearby hotel space, as you may expect, becomes more limited as the Series approaches. This time of year is the prime vacation/tourist time for the greater Kirkland/Bellevue area. It is strongly suggested you obtain hotel/motel reservations early as most of the hotels and motels fill up early.
For more information on accommodations, local attractions, restaurants, etc., please call the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce at 425-822-7066 or the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce at 425-454-2464.
For all of your hotel needs, we encourage you to use "Choice Hotels," the Official Hotel Partner of Little League Baseball and Softball. To make reservations, contact the Choice Sports Desk at 877-240-AWAY (2929) and use Discount Code 00211120. By using that Discount Code you will SAVE at least 15 percent off your hotel rooms and a portion of the proceeds will go back to Little League Baseball and Softball. The Sports Desk can also be contacted via fax at 877-249-AWAY (2929).
If you are arriving by car, simply take Interstate 405 north into Kirkland and take the NE 85th Street exit toward the west (downtown Kirkland). Turn left at the first stop light onto Kirkland Way, proceed a short distance to the first street on the left (8th Street South) and turn left. Follow the street to Everest Field on the left. There is limited free parking in the South Lot and additional free parking in the North Lot. There is NO PARKING on the street in front of the park. It is suggested that visiting parents car pool with other team parents when coming to Everest Field.
A wide variety of food and refreshments is available at the concession stand, and Junior League World Series Souvenirs are available at the World Series souvenir stand. Pin Trading is encouraged in a special area set aside for this purpose.
For the safety and enjoyment of all who attend, the following items or activities are prohibited in the Everest Field Complex: alcohol, large tarps, coolers, large bags or large containers, pets, solicitation, fireworks, laser pointers, knives, and weapons of any kind. In keeping with the Little League tradition of teaching by example, all smoking and smokeless tobacco use is prohibited in the Everest Field stands, exit ways and rest rooms, as well as all buildings. The entire park is maintained by the City of Kirkland and is subject to city government codes. All items brought into the complex are subject to inspection. All blankets, chairs and personal items of any kind must be removed daily.
Please also note that increased security measures may cause slight delays at certain times, so you should plan to arrive early.
There will be other events during the seven-day period of the Junior League Softball World Series. For information on those events, please contact the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce or Bellevue Chamber of Commerce at the numbers listed above under “Lodging.” Please note there is another major sporting event in the area at the same time, so please remember this when making arrangements for travel and lodging.
At this time, no television coverage of games is planned, although Little League International continues to urge networks to carry the games of all World Series tournaments. We do, however, expect extensive media coverage from newspapers, radio stations and television stations. Leagues with teams at the Series are welcome to provide World Series contacts to their hometown radio stations for the possibility of broadcasting games back home to friends and family.
The Junior League Softball World Series includes an Awards Banquet on the Thursday night of the World Series during which players and teams receive participation awards. Admission to the banquet is by ticket only, and parents are invited to purchase tickets for a small fee, but space at the banquet is very limited. If parents wish to attend, they will need contact their team’s manager very early in the week.
We hope you and yours have a great time at the Junior League Softball World Series!
