“This donation is a wonderful gesture,” David James, director of the Urban Initiative, said. “Through his foundation, Mr. Mussina has shown time and again to be an advocate for children, and he continues to enthusiastically support the ideals of the Little League program. On behalf of all the players attending this year’s Little League Urban Initiative Jamboree, I thank the Mike Mussina Foundation for its generosity and goodwill.”
The Mike Mussina Foundation was started in 2000 by Mr. Mussina, who
grew up five miles from Little League International in Montoursville,
Pa., and is a member of the Little League International Board of
Directors. The Foundation advocates healthy lifestyle choices through
support of childhood literacy and recreation programs, as well as
scholarships.
Little League Baseball and Softball is the world’s largest organized youth sports program, with nearly 2.7 million players and 1 million adult volunteers in every U.S. state and scores of other countries.
