PCA and Little League Renew, Expand Partnership

A message from the Positive Coaching Alliance:
Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and Little League International renewed their National Partnership agreement because of the immense mutual success in the first year of their partnership. Both PCA and Little League benefit from a complementary approach to building character in youth athletes.

The partnership provides Little League the chance to offer the Little League Double-Goal CoachTM Online Course, which helps Little League Coaches become Double-Goal Coaches, focused on the first goal, winning, and the second, more-important goal, teaching life lessons through baseball and softball

PCA, meanwhile, is proud to accept into its movement to transform youth sports, thousands of new Double-Goal Coaches from such a respected organization as Little League Baseball and Softball. We know our partnership is on the right track when we receive testimonials such as the following:

“On a scale of one to five, I would rate the online course a five. It took about two hours to complete. The most beneficial parts of the course were the links for areas like positive coaching scripts, effort goals, etc. The Double-Goal Coach approach is very appropriate for Little League and all youth sports.

“I like the effort goals. In particular, looking for the 3 B's (move to Ball, cover a Base and Back up) every time the ball is hit to my team (7-8 year olds). It is a more detailed, compared to my saying, "Everyone on the field should be moving every time the ball is hit.’ Nice Job!”
-- Bill Sickinger, Simsbury Little League

"I was at a tournament in South City and one of the managers came up to me afterward and said, 'You've got the model coaches and model players. They never hang their heads. They never cuss. They never argue with the umpires. How do you do that?' I said, 'Positive Coaching Alliance.'
-- Steve Sutter, Foster City (CA) Little League
