Nina Johnson Named Assistant Director of Little League’s Central Region

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Sept. 7, 2006) – Nina Johnson has been named
assistant director of Little League’s Central Region in
Indianapolis, it was announced today by Stephen D. Keener, president
and chief executive officer of Little League Baseball and Softball.
As assistant director, Mrs. Johnson is responsible for assisting the
director in the operation of the Ruben F. Glick Little League Center
in Indianapolis. Those duties involve working with local leagues
regarding rules, regulations and procedures, developing and
implementing training programs, and operation of tournaments,
including the annual Little League Baseball Midwest and Great Lakes
Regional Tournaments.
“Through her professional endeavors, Nina has developed an
appreciation and understanding of the commitment Little League
volunteers have to our program,” Mr. Keener said. “As she assumes
the duties of assistant region director, her experiences and
aptitude to meet challenges head-on will enable her to best serve
the children and volunteers of the Central Region.”
Mrs. Johnson worked for the YMCA in Indianapolis for one year, and
later spent two years as sports leagues director with the YMCA of
Summit, N.J, prior to assuming her position with Little League. She
assumes the position formerly held by J.P. Williams.
A native of St. Anthony, Ind., Mrs. Johnson, formerly Nina Weyer, is
a 1999 graduate of Forest Park High School in Ferdinand, Ind. She
attained a bachelor’s degree in sports administration from Ball
State University in 2003, and now resides in Indianapolis with her
husband, Keith.
