Nina Johnson Named Assistant Director of Little League’s Central Region

Nina Johnson

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Sept. 7, 2006) – Nina Johnson has been named assistant director of Little League’s Central Region in Indianapolis, it was announced today by Stephen D. Keener, president and chief executive officer of Little League Baseball and Softball.

As assistant director, Mrs. Johnson is responsible for assisting the director in the operation of the Ruben F. Glick Little League Center in Indianapolis. Those duties involve working with local leagues regarding rules, regulations and procedures, developing and implementing training programs, and operation of tournaments, including the annual Little League Baseball Midwest and Great Lakes Regional Tournaments.

“Through her professional endeavors, Nina has developed an appreciation and understanding of the commitment Little League volunteers have to our program,” Mr. Keener said. “As she assumes the duties of assistant region director, her experiences and aptitude to meet challenges head-on will enable her to best serve the children and volunteers of the Central Region.”

Mrs. Johnson worked for the YMCA in Indianapolis for one year, and later spent two years as sports leagues director with the YMCA of Summit, N.J, prior to assuming her position with Little League. She assumes the position formerly held by J.P. Williams.

A native of St. Anthony, Ind., Mrs. Johnson, formerly Nina Weyer, is a 1999 graduate of Forest Park High School in Ferdinand, Ind. She attained a bachelor’s degree in sports administration from Ball State University in 2003, and now resides in Indianapolis with her husband, Keith.
