Little League Museum is Great for Birthday Parties
Parents in the Pennsylvania area who want to offer a fun birthday
event for their children may want to consider holding a party at the
Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum along Route 15 in South
Williamsport.
Parties include admission to the museum for two hours and use of the
batting and pitching cages and the running track. Cartoons and other
films are played in the Mary McGovern Theater. A guided tour is
available at no additional charge.
Tables are set up in the Play Ball Room so parents have a good view
of the running track and batting and pitching experiences.
Organizers should bring their own party ware and refreshments. They
are responsible for clean up.
Parties may be booked from noon to 2 p.m. and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
on Saturdays and Sundays. Parties also may be booked Monday through
Friday during museum hours. Parties are not offered from mid-April
through Labor Day in September because of the increased attendance
in the museum.
Party prices are $1.50 for children ages 5 through 13; $2.50 for
adults between the ages of 14 and 61, and $1.50 for those 62 and
older. Children 4 and younger are admitted free of charge.
An appearance by Dugout, the Little League mascot, can be booked for
an additional fee.
For others who want to visit or schedule a group tour, the museum
operates under its winter hours from Labor Day through Memorial Day:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday; noon to 5 p.m.
Saturday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed, except by
appointment, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Additional information is available by contacting the museum at
(570) 326-1486.
