Demiko Ervin Named Assistant Director Of Little League’s Southern Region

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Feb. 5, 2008) – Demiko Ervin has been named Assistant Director of Little League’s Southern Region in St. Petersburg, Fla., it was announced today by Stephen D. Keener, President and Chief Executive Officer of Little League Baseball and Softball.

 Demiko Ervin

“We are pleased to welcome Demiko to the Little League family,” Mr. Keener said. “Assuming the duties of assistant director for the Southern Region offers many challenges. Varied personal and professional experiences, academic degrees in education and sports administration, and an appreciation for Little League’s mission have prepared Demiko to confidently serve the children and volunteers of the Southern Region.”

As Assistant Director, Mr. Ervin, a native of High Point, N.C., is responsible for assisting the director in the operation of the Little League Baseball Southern Region Headquarters in St. Petersburg. Those duties involve working with local leagues to resolve issues, developing and implementing training programs, and operation of tournaments, including the annual Little League Baseball and Softball Southern Regional Tournaments.

“Demiko will be a major asset to this office,” Jennifer Colvin, Director of the Southern Region, said. “Commitment to community is something that Little League holds in high esteem. Demiko understands that responsibility, and coupled with his respect for the Little League program, makes him a fine fit for our operation.”

To his academic credit, Mr. Ervin has attained a bachelor’s degree in education from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. (2000); and a master’s degree in sports administration from Florida State University (2007).
