| Little League International Launches New Electronic Newsletter for Coaches and Managers WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Feb. 3, 2006) – In January 2006, Little League International published the first monthly electronic newsletter for volunteers who have taken on the role and responsibility of Little League coach. “The Coach’s Box,” is available to all volunteers coaching baseball and softball in the many divisions of Little League. Designed as a free reference guide, each monthly newsletter is delivered by e-mail to managers and coaches who can enjoy special guest columns, read up on the latest in Little League coaching techniques and drills, and stay current with the playing rules. “Little League International wants this publication to be a teaching tool for all Little League coaches and managers,” Joe Losch, senior vice president for Little League International, said. “Anyone who has been a Little League coach or manager knows how challenging it can be to do the best job possible for their players and local program. It is out hope that this newsletter will provide a well-rounded resource for all of our coaches.” Every month subscribers receive a publication that includes a feature story written by a member of the Little League International staff, articles on health and a safety practices, motivational coaching techniques, separate skills and drills sections specific to baseball and softball, a section on Little League rules authored by Umpire Consultant Andy Konyar, access to the Little League’s coaches registry, and a guest column written by former Major Leaguer and current ESPN Baseball Tonight Analyst, Harold Reynolds. Recipients of “The Coach’s Box” are able to forward the newsletter to a friend, fellow coach or other Little League volunteer. Read latest edition here.
