Facts Regarding Non-Wood Bats
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The following information is provided by Little
League International regarding the use of non-wood bats in Little
League Baseball and Softball.
In short, these documents show that non-wood bats are as safe as
wood bats, and that Little League International continues to place
safety ahead of all other concerns. We invite anyone to review these
documented facts in order to reach an informed conclusion.

This states Little League’s position on non-wood bats and cites the
reasons for it.
Pennsylvania Poll Results Overview
More than 25,000 Little League volunteers in Pennsylvania were
asked, in an e-mail poll, “Do you believe Pennsylvania should pass a
law banning non-wood bats from Little League through high school
baseball and softball?” The survey results overwhelmingly showed
respondents were against proposed legislation that would make it a
crime to use a non-wood bat in any youth baseball or softball game in
the Commonwealth.
New Jersey Survey Overview
This contains detailed results of an on-line survey provided to
Little League constituents in New Jersey, alerting them to the
non-wood bat issue, and asking them to complete an on-line survey.
This e-mail was sent to more than 21,000 people. By clicking on the
link in the message, the user was taken to a web page that contained
the survey.
USA Baseball Youth Committee Statement
This is a message to all Little League constituents worldwide,
regarding a statement from USA Baseball regarding non-wood bats. USA
Baseball is the governing body for amateur baseball in the U.S.
