SUBWAY® Baseball DeSIGNS Tour Concludes at the Little League Baseball World Series
The second annual SUBWAY® Baseball DeSIGNS Tour and its annual online auction has raised more than $10,000 in support of the Little League Urban Initiative over the past two years.
Throughout the summer, the Tour featured more than 40 baseballs designed by Little Leaguers and autographed by celebrities and athletes, including: Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps, professional boxer and television personality Laila Ali, Major Leaguers CC Sabathia and Ryan Howard, NASCAR drivers Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon and The Jonas Brothers.
The 2010 Baseball DeSIGNS virtual tour was on display online, at: www.SubwayKids.com; and on the Official SUBWAY® Facebook page. The actual baseballs hit the road, visiting Los Angeles as part of a national Little League Baseball Appreciation Game, Anaheim during Major League Baseball's All-Star activities, and were on display in New York during a regular-season series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. The tour made its final stop at the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pa., before the baseballs were auctioned off online.
SUBWAY® is proud to be the official Restaurant of Little League Baseball and Softball and has the distinction of being the only quick service restaurant with an advertising presence at the Little League Baseball World Series. Since 2005, Little League Baseball and Softball and SUBWAY® has partnered together to spread its "Play Hard, Eat Fresh" message to fight childhood obesity.
