SUBWAY® restaurants Celebrity Baseball Auction and Tour to Benefit Little League® Urban Initiative
SUBWAY® restaurants — the official restaurant of Little League® — is kicking off its second annual SUBWAY® Baseball DeSIGNS tour on July 9th at the National Little League® Baseball Appreciation Game in Southern California. The tour will feature more than 30 baseballs, designed by Little Leaguers® and autographed by celebrities, that will be auctioned off to the public. Total proceeds from the auction will benefit the Little League Urban Initiative.
The tour will stop in Los Angeles, Anaheim and New York City before making its final stop at the Little League Baseball® World Series in South Williamsport, PA. Starting in Los Angeles, baseball legends and famous fans of SUBWAY® will be serving as official tour program spokespeople, including Philadelphia Phillies’ Ryan Howard; former Los Angeles Dodgers great and ESPN personality Orel Hershiser; New York Yankees legend, Bucky Dent; and Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Fred Lynn.
Celebrities scheduled to autograph baseballs for the tour include the cast from the popular television series “Glee,” actors from the hit “Twilight” franchise, the cast of “Gossip Girl,” champion swimmer Michael Phelps, baseball greats CC Sabathia and Ryan Howard, NASCAR’s Carl Edwards and four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon. Beginning on August 20, the public can bid on these unique collectibles on eBay, with the auction running through the Little League Baseball® World Series, and concluding with the series on August 29.
Also keeping the focus on Little League® sports this summer, SUBWAY FRESH FIT FOR KIDS™ meals will feature free Little League® inspired reusable meal bags. The bags will be offered in six different designs and include a coded trading card to unlock bonus features in the newly enhanced Ryan Howard Triple Play game.
