5 Ways Little League® Supports Parents
Little League® provides important resources for its players, coaches, and volunteers to ensure that all children who participate have a fun, healthy, meaningful experience. But, we also want to make sure that Little League parents have that same experience.

Here are five ways Little League supports our millions of parents.

Little League Communications

The May 2015 issue of The Parent Connection (TPC) is the newsletter’s 20th edition. Thank you for subscribing and reading! While the information in TPC is all tailored directly to inform, educate, and entertain parents, Little League’s other newsletters offer valuable content that parents can take advantage of as well. Learning how we’re communicating with District Administrators, League Officials, and Coaches, can broaden your Little League knowledge. To sign up for our newsletters, visit LittleLeague.org/Register.

Little League also is active on social media. Following us at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram will give you daily updates and a way to connect directly with Little League Headquarters.

Online, LittleLeague.org/Parents is your one-stop spot for all the parents resources Little League offers. And be sure to continue to visit LittleLeague.org for important updates from Little League International.

Child Protection Program

The safety of its participants is Little League’s highest priority. In addition to being a leader in on-field safety equipment and regulations, Little League was also one of the first to require that all volunteers undergo a background check. Little League’s Child Protection program offers leagues 125 free background checks through our partnership with First Advantage – LittleLeague.org/Background.

Online Education

Little League has partnered with two outstanding organizations to create free, online courses that can directly benefit Little League parents.

With the Positive Coaching Alliance, Little League has free, quick resources for parents to help influence a more positive experience for their Little Leaguer® on and off the field – LittleLeague.org/PCA.

Little League has also partnered with the Taylor Hooton Foundation to provide a free online course that opens eyes about steroid and Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drug (APED) use among children, starting as early as 11 and 12 years old – TaylorHooton.org/llbtraining.

Skills Improvement

Working with your Little Leaguers in the backyard is a great way to ensure their on-field skills grow. Little League’s Coaches Resource Center provides free, online drills and information that you can use when working with your children – LittleLeagueCoach.org

For Little League Softball® parents, Softball Excellence and Cindy Bristow provide additional educational offerings through discounted, online seminars and printable training material to help train parents, coaches, and managers – LittleLeague.org/SE

Mobile Apps

Using the GameChanger Live Scoring App, available for tablet and mobile devices, parents can follow their child’s game even when they aren’t able to be in the stands – Training.gc.com/LittleLeague.

Little League parents are essential to the success of not only your Little Leaguers’ seasons, but also to the continued success of Little League Baseball and Softball. These resources are just some of the ways that we hope to help make your experience easier and more fun.
