C.C. Sabathia’s Mother: A Dedicated Little League® and Major League Mom
“Once I started pitching, she would get the gear on, the full gear, and start catching me.”

C.C. Sabathia is one of the most dominant Major League pitchers in the past 15 years, and he got his start where so many MLB players do, the Little League® fields.

Margie Sabathia-Lanier got her start as a volunteer at North Vallejo Little League in Vallejo, Calif., when C.C. was playing. Now, she’s back at the league, volunteering with her husband, Al Lanier, who is in charge of equipment for the league. In 2010, she was named the George and Barbara Bush Little League Parent of the Year.

C.C. and Margie sat down with ESPN for their vignette series in honor of the 75th Anniversary of Little League.
