Welcome To The Parent Connection

VOLUME 1 ISSUE 1 OCTOBER 2013

Welcome To The Parent Connection

Little League® is excited to debut The Parent Connection newsletter! In this issue, and all the others to follow each month, you’ll find important information and tips to make the Little League experience a great one for you and your Little Leaguer®. We believe informed parents create successful local leagues, which results in kids having fun. While we will produce content specifically geared for parents, guardians and families, The Parent Connection will be a useful tool for anyone interested in or involved with Little League. So, please encourage your friends and fellow parents to sign up.

No matter if you are a new Little League parent, or have been around the diamond with us before, we would like to thank you for your trust in us to provide fun competition, and learning experiences for your kids both on and off the field. We’ve been providing those experiences for nearly 75 years, and we could not have done it without devoted parents like you. And, as the world’s largest youth sports organization, we’ve seen our share of success, but that does not mean we don’t recognize the need for improvement. Each newsletter will include a feedback button. We encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas on where we hit homeruns, and where we strikeout.

While many may view Little League as a sports organization, we are, at our core, a teaching organization that just happens to include baseball and softball. The lessons your kids learn at their local leagues carry through their lives, and help them become upstanding adults. In essence, Little League complements the inspiring work you, as parents, do, and the messages you want your children to hear – messages similar to what’s in the Little League Pledge... I will play fair, and strive to win, but win or lose, I will always do my best.

Little League gives kids the chance to meet new pals, but we also provide friendship-building opportunities for parents, grandparents and other relatives, as well. Little League brings people and communities together. Look around at any local Little League game. You’ll see people of all races and creeds, from different economic classes, engaging with one another. We’re excited for you to take part in that experience, and we encourage you to volunteer at your local league, whether it be on the field, in the concession stand or as Team Mom.

While you continue to do an amazing job at supporting your kids and their involvement in Little League, The Parent Connection newsletter exists to support you. We look forward to getting to know you better, so we can provide the very best experiences for everyone involved in the Little League family.
