Like learning to ride a bike and heading off to school for the first time, signing your child up for Little League® is a rite of passage for millions of boys and girls around the world. And walking into your local league’s registration is the first step toward making life-long memories for the entire family.
Whether it’s the first time you’re signing your children up for Little League, or you’re a veteran Little League family, there are important things to remember going into registration. If you’re not sure where to sign up your future Little Leaguers®, use Little League’s eteamz.com League Finder. New for 2014, you have the option of registering for the league where you reside, or the league where your children attend school. If you can’t find a league there, contact Your Little League Regional Office and the staff can point you in the direction of your local league or your area's District Administrator.
Once you find your league, check with the local league officials to see what different Little League divisions are available for your children.
When you’re ready to head to registration, remembering what to bring when signing your children up is essential. Little League works hard to make sure that our playing field is an even one, so we require you to bring information to confirm where you live or where your child attends school and your children’s age.
When registering for the league where you reside, you will need three or more of the following documents to establish residency. For example, your driver’s license, a current utility bill and your voter’s registration. Three utility bills would only count as one document. Each item must be dated or in effect between Feb. 1, 2013 and Feb. 1, 2014.
New this year, you can also register your child for the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located. To verify enrollment, parents will need to bring an official school document, such as a report card or school enrollment form, confirming enrollment in the school for the current academic year, dated before October 1, 2013.

The other verification needed is your children’s age. Bring an original birth certificate or other proof of age document that has been issued by a federal, state or provincial government in the country in which the Little Leaguer is participating. Your children’s age may have an impact on what division of baseball or softball you are registering for. To calculate their Little League age, use our online tool.
