Message from Stephen D. Keener, Little League® President and CEO
Dear Little League® Board Members and League Administrators,
Throughout 2014, we have celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Little League with fond memories and aspiration for a bright future. During this very special time of year, as we enjoy the company of family and friends, I want to express my personal appreciation for the volunteer leadership and personal commitment you provide to our program.
Over 75 years, Little League has become the leader in youth sports and it would not have been possible without you. The place that Little League holds in the hearts and minds of volunteers all over the world is evidence that the ideals that the program was founded on remain impactful today. At Little League International, we appreciate that you, our dedicated volunteers, are the foundation and we can never say thank you enough.
For more than seven decades, in communities of all sizes and throughout the world, people have chosen Little League as their social playground for learning about leadership, respect and sportsmanship.
Generations after founder Carl Stotz gave life to his vision, we are proud to continue following in his footsteps. As we stride forward under the guidance and direction of Little League International Board of Directors Chairman Davie Jane Gilmour, Ph.D., and her follow Directors, we wish to take a few moments to share our achievements and reflect on last year, which included the 26th International Congress in Minneapolis, Minn., the 40th Anniversary of Little League Softball® , the 25th Anniversary of the Little League Challenger Division®, and the most watched Little League Baseball® World Series in history. We invite you to enjoy this video retrospective that recounts Little League’s Diamond Anniversary.
On behalf of the millions of children who will be a part of the Little League experience in 2015, we humbly thank you for your service. This spirit of giving is a testament to the value of the Little League program, and it is the reason why we know many more wonderful memories and successes will come. I send my warmest wishes to you and your family for a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.
Stephen D. Keener
