The Little League® Awards Program: Honorees Represent Millions of Volunteers Just Like You
For more than 75 years, people from the largest cities to the smallest towns have chosen to volunteer in Little League®. These volunteers are the heart of Little League, but some individuals go above and beyond. And local leagues can recognize the effort and commitment of these individuals by nominating them for recognition through the Little League® Awards Program.
For two weeks each August, Williamsport, Pa. is the center of the Little League universe, while the world watches the Little League Baseball® World Series. Along with showcasing the 16 best Little League Baseball teams on the planet, Little League International embraces the opportunity to tell the stories of people who too have embraced the ideals of our program.
Many of those stories are told by recipients of Little League Awards. To nominate that special volunteer or player, visit Little League® Awards Program page on LittleLeague.org. The national winners are chosen from those nominations.
All of the award recipients receive an all-expense paid trip to Williamsport. During their time at the World Series, each winner is publicly recognized during an event where they are presented their award, and later have the opportunity to be part of an on-field ceremony prior to a World Series game.
Nominations for the 2015 Little League Awards Program must be received by June 1, 2015. Yearly recognitions are given for the Volunteer of the Year, Mom of the Year, Good Sport Award, Challenger Award, and Howard and Gail Paster Little League Urban Initiative Volunteer Award.
