Mo’ne Davis Visits Cooperstown, Donates Little League Baseball® World Series Jersey to Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum
In August, Mo’ne Davis left an indelible mark on the history of the Little League Baseball® World Series and the Little League® program. And now, she has a place in The Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y.
A pitcher for the Mid-Atlantic Region Champion Taney Little League in Philadelphia, Ms. Davis donated her Little League Baseball World Series jersey to the Hall of Fame after becoming the first female to earn a pitching victory in a World Series game.
In her team’s first World Series game, a 4-0 win, Ms. Davis threw a two-hit, eight-strikeout complete-game shutout against South Nashville (Tenn.) Little League, the Southeast Region Champion.
Ms. Davis finished the Little League Baseball World Series with a 1-1 pitching record with 14 strikeouts in eight innings on the mound. The Mid-Atlantic Region Champions finished the 2014 Little League Baseball World Series with a 2-2 record.
Ms. Davis, 13, described the experience as “amazing.” The Maroon and Sky Blue Mid-Atlantic Region team jersey made by Russell Athletic is currently on display in the Hall of Fame.
