Diamonds and Sand: Imperial Beach Little League in California Showcases Little League’s 75th Anniversary with Unique Sculpture
Imperial Beach Little League (IBLL) held its Opening Day Ceremonies on March 8. Celebrating the start of the 2014 IBLL season and the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Little League®, the most southwestern local Little League program in the United States unveiled this unique sand sculpture.
“When playing ball near the beach, what better way to celebrate the 75th year of Little League Baseball®,” said Imperial Beach League President Don Spicer of the sand sculpture. “We wish to share this experience with our entire Little League family.”
The sand sculpture was done by The IB Posse, which is a group of former Little League players who now have children and grandchildren playing Little League.
