Little League® Celebrates Volunteers from Around the World

Earlier this month, the 26th Little League® International Congress was held in Minneapolis, Minn. During the four-day event, more than 1,500 volunteers celebrated the efforts and accomplishments of their peers and other special friends of the program as they were recognized for their significant contributions to the world’s largest youth sports organization.

Little League® and WeatherBug, the brand millions trust to Know Before™ severe weather strikes, has launched Little League WeatherBug, a new mobile weather app providing coaches, managers, parents, family and friends of Little League with real-time weather, severe weather alerts, and personalized lightning detection to help stay safer during practice and games this season.

Show off Your Skills at the 2014 MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Competitions
Any local Little League® can provide players with a skills assessment by hosting one of Major League Baseball’s 2014 Pitch, Hit and Run competitions. Pitch, Hit and Run is a free one-day skills competition for boys and girls, ages 7-14, that emphasizes the fun elements of baseball and softball and allows children to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.   Click here to read more
Share Your Memory With the Little League ® Big Legacy Project
In just a few short weeks, the Little League Big Legacy Project mosaic will be unveiled. Share your special memories and, for nothing more than your time, support Pitch In For baseball. To celebrate the memories uploaded to the Little League® Big Legacy Project, $50,000, will be donated to Pitch In For Baseball, a non-profit organization that helps provide equipment to local baseball and softball programs in need.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology estimates that 90 percent of eye injuries are preventable with the use of proper safety eyewear. Former Big Leaguer and Little League® Grad Brandon Inge Heads Back to Where It All Began

Former Major League All-Star, Brandon Inge is a graduate of Lynchburg (Va.) Little League. In 2009, Brandon’s parents, Dwight and Linda, were honored as the George and Barbara Bush Little League Parents of the Year. And now, two years after retiring as a player, Brandon has returned to his home league and volunteers as a coach.
