Little League® International Employment Opportunity: Director of Umpire Development

Little League® International is actively searching for a Director of Umpire Development, whose primary responsibility will be to assist in training and supporting volunteer umpires throughout the entire Little League International program.

Based in South Williamsport, Pa., this full-time position requires candidates to have a strong on-field umpiring background, and possess a solid understanding of the rules and regulations used to officiate games in the Little League baseball and softball program.

The successful candidate will be involved in the development of instructional curriculum surrounding recruitment, development, and retention of umpires. Additionally, the position will be involved in revising the Little League Baseball®, Little League Softball®, and Little League Challenger Divisions® rulebooks, as directed by the Little League International Rules Committee. In addition, the Director of Umpire Development will be involved in the crafting, managing, and administering Little League’s umpire clinics and school.

Applicants are expected to have a minimum of five years of umpire experience, strong written and interpersonal skills, excellent public speaking and communication skills, computer skills with Microsoft Office experience, be congenial, patient, and tactful while assertive, as well as a have a passion for baseball and softball.

The Director of Umpire Development will report to the Senior Director of Operations and Education, and become a staff member in the Operations Department at Little League International. This position requires mandatory relocation to within commuting distance to Williamsport, Pa.
