Drill of the Month
By Jamie Joy, Manager of Operations

How many times have you gone to a practice only to see kids in long lines waiting for their turn?

This occurs too often, so here’s a drill allow you to keep more players involved.

The Three-Man Relay can be done anywhere, but is more effective in the outfield.

Start by positioning three players in a line about 20 to 30 feet from each other. Place a ball on the ground and give the command to start.

To start the drill, the player picks up the ball and throws to the relay person, who then throws to the other player at the end of the line. Place the ball on the ground and repeat.

I really like this drill because it allows a coach the flexibility to work on more drills simultaneously while keeping all players involved and active. This drill works on footwork, receiving, throwing and communicating. Please take a moment to view this video, at: LittleLeagueCoach.org. LittleLeagueCoach.org …. Great coaching and its FREE!
