Section 1: Baseball Teams Chartering and Accident Insurance for Baseball Teams

(If you are not chartering teams in any Baseball Divisions, including the Challenger Division, skip to Section 2)

To charter teams in Little League’s Baseball Divisions, you will need to complete the portion of the charter entitled “Baseball Teams Chartering.”

charter instructions section1 Step 1:
Enter the number of teams to be chartered in each Division. If your league chartered last season, you will see the number of teams chartered in each Division listed under the heading “Previous Season Teams.” If the league will be chartering a different number of teams in a Division, write in the new number of teams under the heading “Current Season Teams (If Different).” If the number of teams in a Division will remain the same, no changes need to be made for that Division.

Step 2:
Calculate the Charter Fees for the Baseball Divisions (Box A) Under the heading “Charter Fee (Teams x Rate),” calculate the charter fee for each Division of play. The charter fee is calculated by multiplying the number of teams chartered in each Division by $16. Enter the total fees for all divisions in Box A at the bottom of the column.

Step 3:
Calculate the Baseball Accident Insurance Fees (Box B) Under the heading “Insurance Fee (Teams x Rate)”, calculate the accident insurance fee for each Division of play. The accident insurance fee is calculated by multiplying the number of teams in each Division by the rate listed for accident insurance in that Division. Enter the total fees for all divisions in Box B at the bottom of the column. All leagues are required to carry accident insurance. If a league chooses not to purchase accident insurance through Little League, proof of local insurance must be provided that meets the requirements detailed in Regulation I(c)(7) as detailed in the Little League Rule Book.
