How to Charter the Challenger Division
Chartering the Little League Challenger Division gives your league the opportunity to extend the benefits of Little League to to developmentally and physically challenged youth in your community. There are three ways to charter a Challenger program: add the program to an existing charter, charter a district wide Challenger program, or charter a Challenger Only league. For additional information on the Challenger Division, please contact Sam Ranck at (570) 326-1921 ext. 2254 or challenger@LittleLeague.org.
Adding the Challenger Division to an Existing Charter
Adding the Challenger Division to an existing charter is quick and easy. Simply charter the number of Challenger teams that your league will have this season in the same manner that you would charter any other division. The Challenger Division can be found on the baseball portion of the charter. Please note that charter fees and insurance rates are the same for the Challenger Division as they are for any other division of Little League!
Chartering a District Wide Challenger Program
Chartering a district wide challenger program is an easy way to extend the benefits of the Challenger Division to all children within a Little League district. To charter a district program, the District Administrator must charter the Challenger Division on the district charter application. A Challenger Division structured in this fashion can be operated by any combination of district and local league personnel.
Chartering a Challenger Only League
A Challenger Only League is chartered in the same fashion as any other Little League program. For more information, please see How to Charter Little League for the First Time, or contact Sam Ranck at (570) 326-1921 ext. 2254 or challenger@LittleLeague.org.
