Fall: Review ConstitutionIf a well-run Little League wants to change its constitution, it will need to follow the proper procedure for amending it. (Model Constitution, Article XII.) Any changes must be approved by Membership (not the board) and Regional Headquarters, in writing, before the amendment is put into effect. A draft of the proposed amendment can be sent to Regional Headquarters before or after the Membership approves it. However, it is recommended that the proposal be approved by Regional Headquarters before it goes to the Membership. If your league’s constitution cannot be located, simply call your Regional Headquarters for a copy. The constitution, as well as any league document of a general nature, must be made available by the local league to any Member upon request. A well-run Little League keeps copies of the constitution handy for inspection at all times. Members can pay a nominal fee for their own copy.
