D.A. Bulletin - October

2015 Chartering and Marketing Toolkit: The 2015 Little League® Chartering and Marketing Toolkit is ready to go! All District Administrators will receive a Toolkit before each league’s Toolkit is placed in the mail. Highlighting this year’s packet of resources is customized local league charter and insurance information, a marketing plan focused on league and player development, along with valuable tools and resources to help streamline registration. Expect the Toolkit to be delivered to you toward the end of October.

Updating League Officers: Having accurate local league officer information on file is vital to the overall success of the Little League® program. This information allows Little League the ability to provide local leagues with valuable updates and information in season that will allow them to provide a better experience for players, families and volunteers. Please remind your leagues to update their League Officers by logging on to the Little League Data Center. Remember, District Administrators have the ability to update League President information on the Data Center for local leagues. Chartering and Marketing Toolkits will NOT be sent to leagues until we have received confirmation that officers have been updated.

New Little League® Event Calendar: Little League has launched a new online event calendar that offers monthly listings of Regional and Little League International-related meetings, training sessions and other specific events. Information for the calendar is provided by the staff at your respective Regional Centers and Little League International.

Background Checks: The first 125 free First Advantage background checks available to local leagues and districts, paid for by Little League® International, will reset as of Nov. 1, 2014. As a reminder, the information collected through the First Advantage background checks should be kept in a secure location and remain confidential. When using First Advantage for background checks, Social Security numbers are required. You must enter Social Security numbers into the data base. Once the check is completed, you can then redact (black out or conceal) the Social Security number and/or other personal information from the paper copy for added protection.

Retaining Leagues for Next Season: During the next month, District Administrators and their assistants are strongly encouraged to schedule at least one meeting with each league in the district to discuss the league’s intention to charter for the 2015 season. This meeting can help to lay the groundwork for a successful season in 2015. Please, remind your leagues that if any league charters by Dec. 31, 21014, it will receive an additional10 free rulebooks.

2015 Little League® Baseball and Softball Tournament Umpire Request Form: By Nov. 1, District Administrators are asked to submit the Umpire Request Form on behalf of the umpires they are nominating for placement in 2015 Regional and World Series tournaments. This form is to be provided to the respective Regional Center.

2014 New D.A. Training Series: Little League® International will be welcoming nearly 40 first-year volunteer D.A.s from around the world to the fourth annual New D.A. Training Series, Oct. 10-11. The group of newly-elected D.A.s will be meeting with Little League International staff members and conversing with fellow district volunteers regarding the best ways to efficiently oversee and operate their leagues. The seminars are expected to be recorded, and will be available online soon.

This District Administrator Bulletin is sent monthly to District Administrators and Assistant District Administrators via e-mail.
