For thousands of youngsters, summertime means baseball - Little League Baseball! And for real enthusiasts, the baseball camp of choice is the Williamsport Little League Baseball Camp.

Baseball camp at Williamsport, home of Little League Baseball and the annual World Series, is now in its 42nd year. Teaching baseball skills and molding character during five one-week sessions, the program is open to campers 10-14, whether or not members of Little League teams. The 60-acre complex provides the perfect setting for youngsters to learn baseball fundamentals, sharpen skills, and enjoy a wide range of other recreational activities. Located in North Central Pennsylvania surrounded by Bald Eagle mountains, the Williamsport Little League Baseball Camp offers youngsters a fine opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors in a healthful, positive environment. Youngsters are also encouraged to develop leadership skills and self-confidence amid newfound friends.


Staff and Facilities
Competent instructors and counselors, all with baseball backgrounds, understand and relate to the needs of youngsters. Qualified instructional staff is selected from high school and college personnel. Little League Baseball Camp games are played daily at the World Series Stadiums. The complex includes baseball fields (Little League and Senior), swimming pool, International Grove, and more to provide a well-rounded total camp experience. Each camper tours the Little League Museum, which offers "hands-on" experience and features pitching and batting cages with video reply capabilities. The camp provides the latest training aids, pitching machines, and instructional techniques. All equipment is approved by Little League Baseball to provide maximum safety and permit the finest instruction for the Little League age camper. Clean, spacious, dormitory-style housing is adjacent to World Series Stadium and recreational areas. Appealing, well-balanced meals are prepared by trained school cafeteria personnel. A fully stocked canteen offers necessities and souvenir items. (Open on a limited basis.) Transportation to local church services is available.
Stirrat Camp Scholarship
Round trip transportation and tuition costs to the closest Little League Baseball Camp are available to the winner of the annual Robert H. Stirrat Baseball Camp Scholarship. The Scholarship competition is open to all boys and girls of Baseball camp age, 10-14. Youngsters should prepare an essay of 100 words or less based upon their impressions of and the benefits of Little League Baseball. Essays should be submitted to: Stirrat Baseball Camp Scholarship Little League Baseball P.O. Box 3485 Williamsport, PA 17701 All Stirrat Camp Scholarship entries must be received by April 30, 2008 deadline.
Enrollment
The total camp fee is $375.00 for each session. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 must accompany application with the balance payable in full by June 1. Enrollment is limited to assure each youngster receives maximum instruction and counseling. Since applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, early registration is urged. Upon receipt of application, registrants will be mailed a complete list of "needed items," camp guidelines, and directions to the Williamsport Little League Camp. Also included is a medical form to be completed by the camper's family physician. At the request of parents, when two friends attend camp, efforts will be made to house the youngsters together. Since approval depends on registration load, early registration is urged. When possible, parents are invited to visit the camp in advance of the scheduled session, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival at camp, each youngster is issued a cap and T-shirt and assigned to a team for regularly scheduled games. The Little League Camp Program is open to all children from 10 to 14 regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin.
 
Age Eligibility Information For Williamsport:
  • Your child is eligible for these camps if his/her age on April 30, 2008 is 10 through 14.
