Little League® International has officially announced Tyler Knopp as the East Region Assistant Regional Director, joining East Region Director, Corey Wright, and Assistant Regional Director, Amry Shelby, as the newest full-time member of Little League Baseball and Softball.

“Tyler’s strong work ethic and experience working with members of the youth in the Bristol area will provide him with the tools and knowledge necessary to continue to develop our leagues throughout the East Region,” said Dan Velte, Little League Senior Director of League Development and Regional Operations. “We are looking forward to the dedication and support that Tyler will provide to all of our players and volunteers throughout the region.”

In his new role, Mr. Knopp will assist Mr. Wright and Mr. Shelby with the operation of the region headquarters. Some of those duties will include working with leagues throughout the region to enhance operations, develop and implement training programs, and assist in the operation of tournaments, including the annual East Region Little League Softball® Tournament and the Mid-Atlantic Region and New England Region Little League Baseball® Tournaments. The East Region Headquarters serves 12 states (Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont).

“Little League Baseball and Softball’s East Region is very excited and pleased to welcome Tyler Knopp to our staff. Tyler will certainly bring a young and fresh perspective to the region regarding its operations and overview,” said Corey Wright, East Region Director. “I am confident that local league personnel, district administrators throughout the region, and all of our current staff will work well with Tyler in continuing to offer an outstanding Little League Baseball and Softball experience to all.”

A 2016 graduate of Nebraska’s Wayne State College with a degree in Sports Management, Mr. Knopp joins Little League after spending the last year working as a Youth Development Professional at the Boys and Girls Club in Bristol, Conn. During his time there, Mr. Knopp assisted in implementing sports/fitness activities into youth programs, including the 2-4-1 Sports program, where youth can become more physically active and improve on physical literacy, and assisted in hosting AAU basketball tournaments.

“I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work for the world’s largest youth sport organization and with all of the great Little League employees,” Mr. Knopp said. “When you meet some of these employees, they make you feel like family, and that's the kind of atmosphere I want to be in. I can’t wait to get started and try to find new ways to not only make our Eastern Regional tournament better, but also the overall Little League experience one of the greatest experiences these kids can have.”

Mr. Knopp’s experience working in Bristol for the Boys and Girls Club makes him very familiar with the area that the East Region calls home. Some of Mr. Knopp’s additional job experience includes time spent as event staff at Wayne State, where he prepared facilities for athletic events and served as a team host.

In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Knopp served as a dedicated volunteer while in college, and has continued that since graduating, spending time working multiple event, marketing and media operations roles for events such as the AVCA Convention, NCAA Division II Regional Cross Country Championships and the Summit League Basketball Championships.
