Santa Claus is set to visit the World of Little League®: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store from Noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 11.
All visitors will receive free admission to the museum, located at 525 Montgomery Pike (U.S. 15), during Santa’s visit, which will take place in the Museum’s Global Connections Gallery. Not only will visitors have the opportunity to take their photographs with the Jolly Old Elf at no charge, they will see the recently renovated museum and receive a free holiday gift (vintage Little League World Series pin) with any purchase at the Official Store.
In addition to Santa, Mrs. Claus and Bernard, the Chief Elf, are expected to be on hand. Santa shared that although he and Mrs. Claus have a good handle on who was “naughty or nice for the year,” Bernard recalls any names that they may forget! Plus, Santa said, “Bernard is great at comparing improvement over actions from 2015.”
Adults visiting the museum will receive a discount coupon for the Museum’s store to be used between 9 a.m. on Dec. 12 and 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, when the Museum prepares to close for the Christmas holiday.
Throughout the upcoming holidays, the museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and will be closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1. Contact the museum (570-326-3607) or check its Facebook page at Facebook.com/LittleLeagueMuseum for updates on store specials, weather alerts, and more.
Rates for the museum are $2 for children up to the age of 12, $3 for anyone 62 and older, and $5 for general admission. Children four years old and younger are admitted at no charge. Members of the military, active, retired and honorably discharged, and up to five immediate family members are admitted at no charge all year-long.
Additionally, visitors bringing in a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more to donate to the Toys for Tots Campaign, will receive a Museum coupon for a free admission for another day.
Throughout the month of December, the World of Little League Museum is joining together with 65 businesses across the Susquehanna River Valley in the Holiday Shop Local campaign in coordination with the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau. As part of the campaign, which ends the last week in December, the Museum is offering one free t-shirt, hoodie, hat pin, or souvenir with the purchase of an equal or lesser value one of those items at regular price. The discount cannot be combined with any other offer. Twenty thousand shopping passes are available for distribution at more than 100 locations throughout the valley. Additionally, a limited number of red “Shop Local” tote bags are available at participating venues.
