Little League® International mourns the passing of Michael Hudgins, former Senior League Baseball World Series umpire and Texas District 28 Umpire Coordinator. He was 59.

Mr. Hudgins, a native of Houston, spent several years as a volunteer umpire, culminating with his selection to officiate the 2012 Senior League Baseball World Series in Bangor, Maine.

A talented carpenter, cabinetmaker, and builder, Mr. Hudgins entered the construction business as a roofer while still in high school. After graduation from Texas A&M, he returned to the building trades, working as a carpenter’s apprentice, general foreman, and in other capacities.

Employed by Iserhardt Construction, and later, 20th Century Construction, Mr. Hudgins moved on to The Health Museum, where he served as Exhibit Technician for the past 16 years.

Mr. Hudgins is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda; son, Brandon; daughters Lauren and Kaitlin; three grandchildren; his mother, Betty; and three brothers.
