Little League® International mourns the passing of George Kinney, Washington District 13 Administrator.

Mr. Kenney, a resident of Spokane, Wash., was a Little League volunteer for nearly 40 years. He was elected as a District Administrator (D.A.) in 2007, and served in that capacity until his passing. Washington District 13 is the largest youth baseball and softball organization in Eastern Washington, consisting of 11 Leagues, with more than 4,000 players and 400-plus teams.

Prior to his election, Mr. Kinney served as a coach, manager, and local League President. At the District level, he spent four years as Vice President of Operations and was a local and District umpire for 30 years.

A retired member of the United States Navy and a Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Kinney earned a Master’s of Science degree in Organization and Management from City University in Seattle, and worked professionally in Human Resources. He spent time as an adjunct professor at Spokane Falls Community College and was owner of Galactic Systems, a business consulting firm.

Mr. Kenney is survived by his wife, Lee, three children, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
