While many leagues are just putting the finishing touches on their 2016 seasons, November is an important month to make sure your league is ready for the next season. Little League Partners with DICK’S Team Sports HQ for New Technology Service
Little League International is excited to announce that it has partnered with DICK’S SPORTING GOODS to utilize DICK’S Team Sports HQ to become our official and exclusive partner in providing technology services for our local leagues and districts. DICK’S Team Sports HQ, powered by Blue Sombrero, is an innovative youth sports platform that provides websites, online registration, and league management tools at no cost. Beginning immediately, your league and districts will be able to take full advantage of this great new partnership, which includes free resources to create and maintain your league or district website, hold online registrations, and more!
Little League International Board of Directors Meeting
In mid-November, the Little League International Board of Directors will be coming to South Williamsport for its fall meeting to discuss important topics as well as plan ahead for the next meeting in April. More information, including any news and decisions that are made, will be available on LittleLeague.org the week following the meeting.
League Resource Guide Available Soon
Formerly known as the Chartering and Marketing Toolkit, the 2017 League Resource Guide will be printed and sent out to local leagues this month. This will only be sent to leagues who have updated their officers for 2017 on the Data Center, so make sure your league has submitted those updates! All educational resources and content can also be found on Little League University.
Little League PSA Lookout
Be sure to keep an eye out on ESPN this month for Little League Public Service Announcements (PSA) as they begin to air on the ESPN Family of Networks. Last month, Little League Baseball and Softball also joined up with ESPN to film a PSA for Tee Ball, which will begin airing later this year.
World of Little League® Museum Upcoming Events
Throughout November, the World of Little League: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store will be hosting a series of events for visitors to attend:
• Every Day Is Veterans’ Day – While admission for Veterans and Active Duty and National Guard/Reserve military members (and up to five guests) is free every day of the year with appropriate ID, the World of Little League Museum will be offering a free Little League Baseball® World Series pin to all those who visit during the month of November as a way of saying “Thank You” to those who have served their country.
• Kids Day with WVIA – On November 19, the World of Little League Museum will be teaming up with Public Media WVIA to host Kids Day with WVIA to give an opportunity for visitors to meet with non-profit youth organizations and learn about their programs as well as participate in other fun activities. As part of the experience, admission to the museum for those who come visit will be free during the event.
