Little League® and Surface Products Announce New Retail Licensing Partnership

Relationship will bring Little League-branded sun care products to retailers nationwide

Little League® Baseball and Softball, in conjunction with its licensing agency Fermata Partners, has signed a new retail licensing agreement with Surface Products Corporation, a sun care company, based in Carlsbad, Calif. Surface Products will produce a line of American-made sun care products offered in Little League branded packaging that will be available to retailers and Little League concession stands across the United States.

“From day one, Surface has felt that educating families on the importance of using sun care was of utmost importance. We looked at the many ways the youth today spends its time outside, and baseball, and softball, continues to be one of the most popular activities in the United States. Little League and Surface immediately found a synergy with our current products and their desire to continually provide youth with a healthy and fun environment for outdoor activities. We are honored and excited to work with Little League to make Surface products available to Little League families throughout the United States.” said Guy Trotter, Co-Founder of Surface.

Surface will offer two of its most popular lines, SPF30 Dry Touch and SPF30 Sport, of sunscreen in unique, Little League packaging beginning with the 2017 Little League season.

“Little League’s highest priority is the health and safety of all our families, players, and volunteers, and that includes the importance of using sun protection,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “We are looking forward to working with Surface to provide sun care education to our constituents and make co-branded products available for our Little League families.”

Little League International works closely with strategic licensing partners and its official sponsors to help provide valuable support for local Little League programs around the world. Thanks to these relationships, Little League International has been able to create free resources for volunteers, provide direct financial support to local league operations, tournament reimbursement, and keep the costs for leagues to affiliate with Little League to a minimum ($10 per team). This includes the $4 million Grow the Game grant program that Little League International launched in 2015 to support community programs around the world.
