At the annual fall meeting of the Little League® International Board of Directors, three new Field Representatives joined the 25-member volunteer Board. Tony Richardson (Neptune, N.J.; New Jersey District 11 Administrator), Bob Toigo (Sammamish, Wash.; Washington District 9 Administrator), and Jolly Gomez (Manila, Philippines; Philippines District 1 Administrator), assumed their seats on Friday, November 14, at the meeting in South Williamsport, Pa., where the Board also approved the 2015 dates for the nine Little League World Series events.

Mr. Richardson (Eastern Region, click here to learn more), Mr. Toigo (Western Region, click here to learn more), and Mr. Gomez (Asia-Pacific Region, click here to learn more) are the first three Field Representatives to the Board to serve in the new, four-year term. Other Field Representatives to the Board include members from the Canadian, Central, European and African, Latin American, Southeastern, and Southwestern Regions. The remainder of the Board is comprised of industry leaders who work to improve the overall operations of Little League Baseball and Softball.

“Mr. Richardson, Mr. Toigo, and Mr. Gomez are three of our most dedicated District Administrators, and we’re pleased to welcome them to the Board of Directors,” said Davie Jane Gilmour, Ph.D, Little League International Board of Directors Chairman. “Having representatives on our Board from our nine regions provide valuable information from the field and allows the Little League Board of Directors to make the best decisions to improve the Little League experience at the local level for all of our players, families, and volunteers.”

The Little League International Board of Directors also approved the 2015 dates for the nine Little League World Series Tournaments. Coming off of one of the most exciting, most watched Little League tournament seasons in 2014, the 2015 Little League World Series events kick off with the Big League Baseball World Series in Easley, S.C. on July 28 and conclude with the Little League Baseball® World Series Championship Game on Sunday, Aug. 30 in South Williamsport, Pa. Over the course of 34 days, Little Leaguers® ages 11 to 18 from around the world will play more than 225 baseball and softball games to determine nine World Series champions.

“The Little League World Series tournaments are the exciting end of a year’s-worth of hard work, dedication, and commitment from the millions of Little League players, families, and volunteers from our 7,000 leagues around the world,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “While they are the premier tournaments in all of youth sports, our World Series events allow Little League to show the world the importance of communities coming together to support children and allow them to learn the valuable life lessons of teamwork and sportsmanship in a healthy and safe environment.”
