Southeast starter Brian Auerbach doesn't need much run-support when he is on the mound and he showed it on Wednesday at Field one against Puerto Rico. Seven strong innings by Auerbach hoisted Southeast to a 2-1 victory over Puerto Rico in seven innings.
Southeast staved off Puerto Rico as Puerto Rico was unable to match Southeast down the stretch.
Puerto Rico scored one run in the seventh on an RBI single by Carlos Texidor. Still, Puerto Rico couldn't catch Southeast.
Ivanniel Vazquez couldn't get it done on the hill for Puerto Rico, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
Southeast went up for good in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Derek Gibree.
Southeast tacked on one more run in the bottom of the third when Brenden Overton stole home.
The seventh inning saw Puerto Rico score its only run of the day on an RBI single by Texidor.
