Stan Krzanowski

Stan Krzanowski, a Little League® volunteer for 30 years and current President of Canton Little League in Connecticut District 6, was a 2013 recipient of a Lewis Hine Award for volunteer service to his community.

“This award is long overdue and well deserved," said Bob Barnes, a member of the Canton Little League Board of Directors. "Stan is Canton Little League. He tirelessly works behind the scenes year-round on every aspect of the league and never takes credit for himself.

"Stan is the gold standard when it comes to what a Little League volunteer is," Mr. Barnes said. "We are all extremely proud of Stan and the prestigious award he has received.”

“Stan has been a key contributor to Little League for many years," said Mike Mentone, Connecticut District 6 Administrator. "His focus is always on the children and their experience with Little League. We all have learned so much from Stan over the years and we are all proud of him and this well-deserved national recognition.”

This prestigious award is presented annually to five professionals and five volunteers for service to the betterment of children and youth.

About the Lewis Hine Awards for Service to Children and Youth
Named for the acclaimed photographer who documented early twentieth century exploitation of child labor, the Lewis Hine Awards for Service to Children and Youth are bestowed annually to ten relatively unknown men and women for their efforts on behalf of the health, education, and welfare of children and youth, particularly those at risk.

The Lewis Hine Awards are given to unheralded professionals and volunteers who devote extraordinary time and energy to improving the lives of young people. The recipients, who come from many walks of life and from across the United States, are selected by a panel of distinguished judges from nominations submitted by elected officials and community leaders.
