ncll152It Takes Volunteers to Support an Organization as Important as Little League®

I have been an active volunteer with North Central Little League in Milwaukee, Wis., since my two boys were old enough to play tee ball in 2005. I was their coach for the next 11 years. I thought it would be the most rewarding thing I could do for my baseball-loving boys.
LLMatters152Why Little League® Matters

In a time when competition for our children’s time is intense – school-related activities, a rich variety of sports options, and even a variety of choices for youth baseball and softball – it’s fair to ask why Little League matters in today’s world. Go to any youth game, no matter the sport, and it’s all but guaranteed to see parents trying to coach their child from the stands. Some are more subtle with the way they try to get their kid’s attention; maybe with a short whistle or a quick hand wave.
parent-confessions150My Facebook Posts Almost Ruined the Season

It started with a slight dig toward the manager. After a win where my son played the minimum requirement, I posted on my Facebook page: Nice victory! Hats off to the regular players! Go team! When the storm clouds roll in on game day, local league officials and managers begin to worry. A rain delay impacts the games to follow, and postponed contests produce make up scheduling headaches.
