Communications Coordinator

Little League Baseball, the world’s premier youth sports non-profit, is hiring a full time exempt Communications Coordinator to work as part of the communications team in the planning and execution of print and electronic communications/marketing materials. This position is full time, working primarily Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM at our Administration Offices in Northcentral Pennsylvania. Must be willing relocate. The primary duties and responsibilities of the job: Reporting to the Senior Communications Executive, this position will be responsible for Project Management, Writing/Editing, Social Media Outreach, and more:

Project Management is the primary duty of this position involving start to finish scheduling of communication projects with entire organization while meeting deadlines. Must develop and maintain system to track project completion. Assist in identifying and eliminating barriers to successfully complete projects by deadlines.

Writing process-driven communications, print publications, and social media content, and managing changes and updates to all.

Editing own work and the work of others, to include re-writing when necessary.

Fact-checking, grammar-checking, proofreading, copy editing including final approval of proofs to press.

Ensuring a consistent look, message, and branding across all communications.

Working closely with all departments on group communication projects, supporting meeting coordination, and editing.

Overseeing the purchasing/ordering of communications/event related items and publications.

Develop media contacts

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or related field required. Equivalent breadth of experience may satisfy this requirement.

Related work experience: Some related experience required. Two years' related experience preferred.

Special skills and knowledge:

  • Requires outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Requires at least 50 WPM typing skills with accuracy.
  • Familiarity with the basic principles of graphic design and the ability to assist in basic design projects.
  • Requires in depth knowledge of social media sites.
  • Proficiency in desktop publishing, printing, and binding operations. Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, highly desired.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Access. Have knowledge of AS400 preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in creating new content for social media site and publications, while also maintaining a collaborative relationship with other staff and outside vendors.
  • Demonstrated abilities as a writer are required, conveying complex subject matter to a general audience in the appropriate style of the organization.
  • The candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and adept at juggling multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Writing samples will be requested.
  • Must be a team player with personable demeanor.

Marketing Intern

Little League Baseball, Incorporated, the world’s largest youth sports program located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time Marketing Intern for the summer; June 1st – August 31st, 2015. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student to gain valuable experience within our Marketing, Sponsorship, Licensing and Merchandising departments. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, have excellent communication and customer service skills; have an understanding of marketing principles and concepts as well as strong computer skills. The minimal level of education is a college junior or senior enrolled in a relevant Marketing program. The intern positions are being offered at $8.00/hour. Housing, transportation and all expenses are the responsibility of the intern.

Print Shop Intern

Little League Baseball, Incorporated, the world’s largest youth sports program located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time Print Shoppe Intern from April 1st – August 31st, 2015. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student to gain valuable experience within our Printing & Communications department. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and have excellent communication skills. The minimal level of education is a college junior or senior enrolled in a relevant Graphic Design program. The intern position is being offered at $7.25/hour.

Full Time Turf and Groundskeeper

Little League International is looking for a Full Time Turf and Groundskeeper. The primary responsibility of this position will be the maintenance and care of all playing fields at the Little League International Headquarters Complex in South Williamsport, PA. This position will also assist with other light maintenance duties including snow removal and maintenance of all equipment. Person in this position will also be a resource for regional Little League facility managers and program directors regarding field care. Candidates must have a degree in Turfgrass Science, Turf Management or related field with two to four years of baseball field experience and a valid pesticide license is preferred or willing to obtain. Must be able to multi-task, supervise small staff, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and bend, stoop, stand for long hours and work in all weather conditions. Must be able to pass background check and have clean DMV check.

Little League Summer Camp Employment Opportunities

If you’re interested in teaching baseball skills to children ranging in age from 9-14, please take a moment to consider the Little League Baseball Summer Camps.

Little League Summer Camp Structure and Goals

  • Little League Baseball has been offering summer camps for more than 30 years, teaching baseball skills and providing a wide range of recreation activities.
  • The Little League Summer Camps are conducted under the direction of well screened highly qualified staff or instructors.
  • The camps provide the latest training aids and instructional techniques. All equipment used is approved by Little League Baseball to provide maximum safety for the Little League campers.
  • Performance/compatibility evaluations for each camper are provided to parents after each session.
  • The camps are designed for younger players who need more guidance in the fundamentals of the game, while more advanced players are challenged to sharpen their skills and try new positions.

  • Camp sessions run from Sunday afternoon through the following Friday morning.
  • Transportation is not provided.

Counselor Position Responsibilities and Benefits

  • Assist Coach in teaching baseball skills to players.
  • Assist Coach during games against other camp teams.
  • Help supervise other recreational camp activities such as swimming.
  • Team size is approximately 14 players.
  • All camp employees are provided sleeping quarters separate from the players (with the exception of our Central Region location) but are responsible for their team at all times during the week-long camp.
  • Facilities at each camp may vary but all locations provide comfortable accommodations.
  • Salary plus meals, laundry, towels and linens.
