The World of Little League®: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store congratulates seven-year-old Robert Long of Northumberland, Pa., for winning the grand prize in the 2016 Susquehanna River Valley Heritage Alliance Time Traveler’s Passport Program. For the first time in 2016, the World of Little League® was one of 12 participating locations in the passport program.

Less than a month after playing in the 2016 Little League Challenger Division® Exhibition Game in South Williamsport, Pa., against Colorado District 1 Little League Challenger Division (Grand Junction, Colo.), the Camp Hill (Pa.) Little League Challenger Baseball Team was invited by U.S. Congressman Scott Perry and U.S. Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania to come to Washington, D.C., for a tour of the U.S. Capitol.

Following another wonderful summer season and the 2016 Little League Baseball® World Series, The World of Little League®: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store will be closed for painting and other maintenance starting on Monday, September 26, and reopen on Saturday, October 1 at 9 a.m.

John Boyd of London, England, was officially nominated for election as the Europe and Africa Representative to the Little League International Board of Directors as determined via an e-mail vote. Upon approval, Mr. Boyd, who has been involved with Little League for 30 years, will assume his seat at the November 2016 Board of Directors Meeting, succeeding Kristian Palvia of Skovde, Sweden, as the Europe and Africa Region Representative to the Board.

CCLLittle League® International Restructures its Teenage Divisions

Since its founding in 1939, Little League® International has paved the way in creating opportunities for children to have an organized sporting activity in their community. Continuing the organization’s efforts to provide local league volunteers and families with the best support and structure for operating local Little League programs, the Little League International Board of Directors approved the restructuring of its baseball and softball programs, dissolving the Big League Baseball and Big League Softball divisions, and capping participation in the Little League program for children 16 years old.
